Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said on Sunday that calling the press “an enemy of the people” is “something that you hear tin-pot dictators say.”
“I didn’t think I could be shocked anymore by this President but I have to say, of all the things you said since he became President or since the election, this to me was the most devastating and the most alarming,” Schiff told Jon Karl on ABC’s “This Week.”
In a tweet posted Friday, Trump claimed that the “FAKE NEWS media” is not his personal nemesis but rather “the enemy of the American People.”
Schiff said that Trump “essentially views the First Amendment” as “an enemy of the people.”
“This is something that you hear tin-pot dictators say when they want to control all of the information,” Schiff said. “It’s not something you’ve ever heard a president of the United States say.”
Understandably, Harward’s last minute replacement on This Week, Rand Paul, did little more than warm a chair seat.
When the D-word breaks out to this level of usage, the I-word can’t be far behind.
Not to mention the T-word.
I like Schiff a lot, and I’m glad he’s getting some spotlight. I liked Anthony Wiener, too, so I hope Schiff isn’t sending pics of his junk around.
