Ladies and gentlemen, we have a meme.

Democrats were pretty excited when Mitt Romney dropped his “I’m running for office for Pete’s sake” line in the last presidential debate. Now they’re using it to bludgeon Romney over what critics on both sides are calling yet another flip-flop by the former governor of Massachusetts.

The issue is SB5, the Ohio law that limits collective bargaining for public workers — and voters in Ohio appear poised to repeal.

When Romney dropped the “I’m running for office for Pete’s sake” line in the debate, Democrats pounced. Now they’re using it to define Romney, as this new DNC web video attacking Romney over his SB5 positions shows:

Democrats — and Republican rivals like Rick Perry — have long cast Romney as a flip-flopper. Now, thanks to the candidates own words, they have a simple and easy way to show what they say is his craven political ambition. We told you that you’d hear that line again. Now we’re seeing how the Democrats are using it to sell the take on Romney they’ve been pushing all along.
