It’s easy to lose track of the sheer level of ridiculousness of the battle now breaking out between House Republican leaders and the Ted Cruz posse in the Senate. They’re attacking each other over who’s hardcore enough to fight to the end in their completely phony battle to defund Obamacare. (For Boehner there must be some element of ‘You got us into this mess by ginning up your yahoos. So back atcha, douche!’) It’s not quite the People’s Front of Judea versus the Judean People’s Front or Kabuki theater. Or maybe it’s both of them in the same Potemkin Village. But we’re now in a high-octane ‘man up’ fight between Boehner and Cruz over the dingbat manuever has got all his followers ginned up about but which everyone knows is destined to fail.
