After days where he’s run either tied with or behind Rep. Joe Sestak, Sen. Arlen Specter has again taken the lead in the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate Primary, according to the newest edition of the Muhlenberg College daily tracking poll.
Today’s poll, conducted May 10-13, shows Specter ahead 45-43. The last time the tracking poll showed Specter ahead was May 5, when Specter lead 45-40. Since that time, the poll — which will track 400 likely Democratic voters from Apr. 28-May 18 — showed Sestak pulling even and leading by as much as five in the May 10 poll. But the two days have shown the race to be tightening up again, with Specter finally taking the lead today.
The tracking polls have consistently shown about 10% of respondents undecided in the race.
The TPM Poll Average shows the race to be a dead heat, with both candidates drawing 43% of the vote.
