It is possible that Republicans could have gotten an even better deal next year...[b]ut that would have left them having to cut taxes retroactively and left households paying first higher and then lower taxes."
- The Heritage Foundation: "this is a compromise worth embracing."
- Grover Norquist: "'a much bigger victory than people see' for the Republicans."
There's a schism for sure. The Club for Growth and DeMint aren't chumps. But there is significant support on the right for this plan.
