As Indiana Democrats return to the state after a month-long standoff to halt what they’ve called a Republican agenda targeting workers rights and public schools, a new ad paid for by Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels’ PAC, Aiming Higher Inc., is slamming them for going AWOL and playing “political games.”

The ad, which will air across Indiana, was released on Tuesday. It criticizes Democrats for fleeing to Illinois and says they walked out on the children of the state.

In an email to TPM, Aiming Higher Inc. spokesperson Brian McGrath said the ad is meant to remind Indiana taxpayers what is at stake during the remainder of the legislative session.

“[The ad] demands that the House Democrats refrain from any more political games,” wrote McGrath. “Hoosier taxpayers deserve better and recent polling showed that 66% of Hoosiers opposed the walkout.”

Here’s the full transcript of the ad:

The child trapped in an under-performing school who has no chance at a great education. The extraordinary young teacher being penalized just because someone else has more seniority. A balanced state budget that maintains public school funding. That’s what the Democrats walked out on when they ran away to Illinois. Our children can’t afford Democrat’s political games. Not when real issues are at stake. No more walkouts. It’s time for real work.
