Evangelist and Rev. Franklin Graham — son of legendary evangelist and Rev. Billy Graham — has listened to Donald Trump talk about his maybe-candidacy for president. And Graham likes what he hears.

“Donald Trump, when I first saw that he was getting in, I thought, well, this has got to be a joke,” Graham told Christiane Amanpour in an interview set to air Sunday. “But the more you listen to him, the more you say to yourself, you know, maybe this guy’s right.”

In the clip posted by ABC News today, Graham doesn’t say exactly what it is he thinks Trump might be right about, but Trump’s of course is best known lately as the nation’s birther-in-chief.

Graham has dabbled in some Obama conspiracy talk himself, telling CNN last year that Obama’s “problem is that he was born a Muslim.” Back in March, he told Newsmax that under Obama, the Muslim Brotherhood has “infiltrated every level of our government.”

Graham suggests that he could get behind a Trump candidacy, but he is quick to note that “we’re so early.” Graham says “I do like Sarah [Palin]” but adds that he doesn’t think she’s likely to run.
