Police on Tuesday morning evicted Occupy Wall Street protesters from their encampment in downtown Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park. And Stephen Colbert says good riddance!

“Clearly their expression was prohibiting other expression,” Colbert said Tuesday. “After all, when a drum circle starts in Zuccotti Park, all other music in New York stops.”

Besides, America’s founding fathers never wanted “indefinite” free speech, Colbert said. They assumed that any protests would be wiped out by small pox in a matter of weeks.

Thankfully New York’s “Occupy” eviction didn’t turn violent like the protests at UC Berkeley last week, Colbert said, where “vicious students” attacked police billy clubs with their “soft, jab-able bellies.”
