After Pope Francis said that Donald Trump’s plan to build a border wall was “not Christian,” conservatives were quick to dismiss the Pope’s comments, despite the Pontiff’s popularity. The Rev. Franklin Graham scolded the Pope, telling him to “build a bridge” to Trump. And Jeb Bush said it was “inappropriate” for Pope Francis to “intervene” in the Republican presidential primary.

Josh Marshall: What’s the number of times one Republican has scored dominating victories in New Hampshire and South Carolina and then gone on to lose the nomination? Exactly. Never. Say What?!

“I mean, I don’t know about retweeting. I mean, you retweet somebody, and turns out to be a white supremacist.”

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “I commend two numbers to your attention – Hillary is projected to get upwards of 70% of the African American vote, and she is also projected to get upwards of 70% of the superdelegates (I wouldn’t be surprised if it was 80%) that in turn make up 30% of the votes needed for the nomination. Neither of those numbers is going to budge much. So yes, Sanders might yet pick up a state or two outside Vermont, but barring some catastrophe, the actual horse race is pretty much over. Sure the folks at DailyKos and CNN et al. will try to pretend otherwise, but that is just make-believe, along the same lines as those who pretended the Hillary/Obama race wasn’t in fact also decided early. So my take is that the Hillary nomination is a done deal.”
