Agree or Disagree?
Josh Marshall: “If you are campaigning on the fact that you’re a winner but you’re losing, the premise of your campaign just falls apart. Just as polls created a positive feedback loop for Trump in the primaries, where they seemed to confirm that no transgression or conventional misstep could hurt him, he is now entering a negative feedback loop with the same polls. The perception of losing amplifies every misstep. It makes him lose more both because the premise of the campaign starts to collapse in on itself but, relatedly, the brittle edifice of a narcissistic ego starts to come under an insuperable strain. Put simply, he gets more erratic.”
Say What?!
“Unbelievable watching this Trumpbot on @CNN tell Cruz to be classy.”
– Trump’s newly hired national campaign director recently deleted a slew of tweets criticizing the candidate.
BUZZING: Today in the Hive
From a TPM Prime member: “I.C.E. does list the number of removals of illegal immigrants (all countries) that had previously been convicted of a crime as substantial — 59%, but that number must include previous entry attempts and other similar cases. It does not say felonies. The ICE numbers do break out the groups suspected of being gang members as small — 1,040 individuals removed by ICE were classified as suspected or confirmed gang members. That works out to .44%, or less than one percent. So accusing Mexico of “sending us their rapists” is an insulting and unjustified charge.”
