A number of far-right and white nationalist groups have announced voter intimidation efforts for Election Day, claiming they will secretly record voters in black communities and turn out in droves to watch people cast ballots. TPM’s Allegra Kirkland reported on these legally dubious efforts from groups including Roger Stone’s Protect the Vote, the anti-government Oath Keepers militia, white supremacist website Daily Stormer and others. According to Kirkland, groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center and elections officials think that these threatening efforts could have the opposite effect of what the perpetrators intend, and actually motivate minority voters to head to the polls.

Agree or Disagree?

Josh Marshall: “Here’s the real issue. If Trump wins Iowa, Ohio, North Carolina, Florida and Nevada – basically runs the swing state table, he’s still short of 270 votes. Why? Because of Virginia and New Hampshire. The key here is that even if he runs the table he needs to win at least one blue state. We haven’t had a lot of quality polls of late in states like Colorado and Wisconsin. So while there was no reason to think that Blue Wall was buckling, we didn’t totally know. A six point lead in Wisconsin makes it pretty clear that Clinton is an overwhelming favorite in the state and it suggests more broadly that the tightening has not affected the Blue Wall.”

Say What?!

“I’m here vouching for Mrs. Clinton and I think it’s high time somebody did.”

– Libertarian vice presidential candidate Bill Weld vouched for Hillary Clinton, further distancing himself from his own party’s ticket.

BUZZING: Today in the Hive

From a TPM Prime member: “I see no panic, no change in their plans/visits, or shift to defend must-win states. In fact they are still very hard in states that either end all paths for Trump or/and are into red-leaning states. I doubt they are delusional. I think if you throw away the horse race narrative being spun, look at the tightening as expected towards the end, and forget the hysteria there has been no real shift in the Clinton campaign. In fact the silver lining of the FBI BS has been is that at least they don’t have to worry as much about complacency from the voters.”

Related: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) suggested that the FBI director “has a double standard” when it comes to Trump.
