Private messages obtained by CNN between Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi and Canadian activist Omar Abdulaziz reveal Khashoggi held a deep disdain for the Saudi crown prince and was fearful of increasing power over the Saudi kingdom.

In the messages exchanged just a few months before Khashoggi was brutally murder at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, the Washington Post writer described Mohammad Bin Salman  as a “beast” and a “pac man” who would one day persecute even his strongest supporters.

“He is like a beast ‘pac man’ the more victims he eats, the more he wants,” Khashoggi said in the messages to Abdulaziz. The two were working on creating a movement online for young people to push to hold the kingdom accountable, before their conversations were –as they believe — hacked by Saudi officials in August, Abdulaziz told CNN.

Kashoggi was murder in October.
