HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Right-wing radio host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is moving to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by the families of some of the 26 people killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting.

In written arguments filed Friday, Jones’ lawyers argue he was acting as a journalist in the tradition of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein in questioning the official narrative of the Connecticut shooting.

Jones, who says he now believes the shootings happened, says such journalism would be chilled if “reporters were subject to liability if they turned out to be wrong.”

Six families and an FBI agent who was a first responder filed suit this spring in state court.

The families say Jones’ comments have tormented them and subjected them to harassment and death threats by his followers.

  1. So in the six years since the Sandy Hook School shooting when did Alex Jones decide he was a journalist? When did he finalize his conclusions that it wasn’t fake? How did he as a journalist convey his conclusion to his readers/viewers?

  2. “In written arguments filed Friday, Jones’ lawyers argue he was acting as a journalist in the tradition of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein …”

    Yep. Exactly the same.

Except Woodward and Bernstein were reporting the best available information and truth.

And Alex Jones is nothing but a fucking liar and highly-paid paid shit-disturber.

  3. I wonder if he just opened himself up to having his reporter’s notes entered in evidence?

  4. He’ll have to reveal the anonymous voices in his head who told him it was a false flag operation.

  5. How many times has he called for libel/slander laws to be changed?
