Twitter users mercilessly mocked Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) as a “robot” for repeating the same soundbite four times Saturday during ABC’s Republican presidential debate.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie attacked Rubio as “scripted” for repeating the same line about President Barack Obama during a back-and-forth between the two candidates.
Rubio said three times that Republicans had to dispel the notion that Obama “doesn’t know what he’s doing.”
On Twitter, celebrities and commentators alike fired off their own critiques:
I’ve watched Rubio for a long time, always thought that critique of him as a talking-points robot was way overblown. But oh dear.

Bush is a bore,
Christie a bully,
Rubio a robot,
Cruz a creep,
Kasich a drone,
Trump’s the only one who sounds like a leader. #GOPDebate

Christie calls Rubio a robot. Rubio responds by repeating three times that Obama “knows exactly what he’s doing.”

Oh my God, Rubio now goes for the “he knows exactly what he’s doing” for the THIRD time. It’s like a robot whose circuits have blown.

A parody account called @RubioGlitch also surfaced:
My closing statement:
Citizens, this notion that Barack Obama doesn't know what he's doing is fiction.
He knows exactly what he's doing.
