Who says the Republican candidates for president are out of touch? Certainly former House Speaker Newt Gingrich knows what’s going on — if he wasn’t at the New Hampshire debate on Saturday night, he’d be on the couch, “…watching the college championship basketball game.”
Huh?
Football game, an ABC moderator reminded him. Gingrich was apparently referring to the Bowl Championship Series game between number one ranked Louisiana State University and number two Alabama, which is actually on Monday night, not Saturday.
March madness, the college basketball national championship tournament, is still, in fact, played in March.
