Attorney General Eric Holder announced Wednesday that the Justice Department’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) will provide $2.5 million in funding to Connecticut law enforcement to cover costs associated with last year’s massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.

The assistance will go to the Connecticut State Police and the Newtown, Conn. Police Department, as well as their partner agencies, to cover associated with overtime, forensics and security during and after the mass shooting.
