Newark Mayor Cory Booker is seriously considering both a run for New Jersey governor in 2013 or running for the Senate in 2014, he said during an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I’m really thinking about both offices right now and which one can I better serve on the issues I’m passionate about and the things that I feel driven to contribute to,” Booker said.
“I am absolutely considering running for governor as well as giving some other options some consideration,” Booker said. “I’m going to be focused on for the next week to 10 days or so, and really come up with a decision that answers my basic question, is where do I believe — and hopefully later the voters might agree with me — but where do I believe I can make the best difference for the city I love, for the state I love and the nation that I’ve pledged my life to.”
Booker later said more specifically that his decision on whether to take on incumbent Republican Gov. Chris Christie must come within the next two weeks.
