China leads the world in “smart device,” aka smartphone and tablet activations, according to a new survey by mobile analytics firm Flurry. China accounted for 24 percent of the world’s total device activations per month in March, compared to 21 percent in the U.S. It appears that China first surpassed the U.S. in February. Flurry measures device activations by “app sessions” data, that is, users engaging with apps, so the results should be taken with a grain of salt.
