It appears Newt Gingrich has had a slight change of heart. After berating Mitt Romney over his jobs record at Bain Capital, Newt is now saying that he thinks he and others should focus on painting Romney as a disingenuous conservative rather than attack him over free market issues, Politico reports. Prompted by a question from a Santorum supporter who implored Gingrich to focus on Romney’s conservative credentials, rather than Bain, Newt had the following to say:
It’s an impossible theme to talk about with Obama in the background. Obama just makes it impossible to talk rationally in that area because he is so deeply into class warfarre that automatically you get an echo effect. … I agree with you entirely.
