The Republican presidential candidates on the trail are learning that pandering to voters isn’t easy. Newt Gingrich tried to win over Latino voters in Florida … after once calling Spanish the language of the “ghetto.”
But the key to Florida, Jon Stewart said on Tuesday, is the “gray hairs,” the “death adjacent.” “And Mitt Romney is all over them like white on Mitt Romney,” Stewart said.
Romney likes to quote from that famous American hymn, “America the Beautiful.” Usually, the former Massachusetts governor only recites the lyrics. But at the retirement community The Villages earlier this week, Romney gave the crowd the full melodic treatment.
“It was then that everyone in the crowd at The Villages pressed their life alert button at the same time and faked a stroke,” Stewart said.
