The two senators were photographed by Twitter user Zack Stoller. According to USA Today, the two dined at Bistro Bis, a French restaurant near Capitol Hill.

Cruz followed up the meal with an invitation to Booker over Twitter, suggesting that the two dine at Tortilla Coast next — a reference to the Capitol Hill Tex-Mex joint where the Texas senator huddled with a group of House Republicans during last year's government shutdown.
@CoryBooker Next time we go to dinner, I hear @tortillacoast has a secret basement meeting room...

Booker responded by suggesting the two go vegan next time.
This might offend your Texas taste. But let's go to a DC Vegan restaurant next! RT @SenTedCruz: Next time we go to dinner... @tortillacoast
