Entertainer Kelly Osbourne found herself in hot water during a discussion about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump while she was co-hosting the ABC talk show “The View” on Tuesday.
Osbourne was discussing Trump’s disparaging comments about Mexican immigrants.
“If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilets, Donald Trump?” she said.
Trump said during his campaign kickoff speech that Mexican immigrants were “rapists” and drug runners.
Some of Osbourne’s fellow panelists recoiled after her response.
“Latinos are not only the only people doing that,” said Rosie Perez, a regular host on “The View.”
Osbourne interrupted her and said, “No, I didn’t mean it like that! Come on! I would never mean it like that! I’m not part of this argument.”
Osbourne went on Facebook to comment on the situation, and said that she always takes responsibility for her actions.
“I whole-heartedly fucked up today,” she wrote in the post. “I should have known better as I was on The View and it was live. I’ve learned a very valuable lesson.”
“It is my hope,” she continued, “that this situation will open up a conversation about immigration and the Latin community as a whole. By the way I clean my own fucking toilets.”
