Apparently a lot of people don’t want Jon Stewart to rest too long. Almost 150,000 supporters have signed a petition demanding the former late night host to moderate a 2016 presidential debate.
According to the Change.org petition, Stewart is “more than qualified” for the job, citing the Peabody Awards won by “The Daily Show” during his tenure.
Jon Stewart is more than qualified to tackle the moderating job. Mr. Stewart has interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate, 7 members of the United States House of Representatives, and scores of other political leaders from this country and around the world while establishing himself as the most trusted person in (satirical) news.
Stewart’s first gig post-late night will be hosting WWE’s sold-out SummerSlam, one of professional wrestling’s biggest nights, on Sunday.
CNN should do it just for the ratings bump. Can you imagine Trump vs. Stewart?
I might even pay to watch that.
I signed. Stewart would be a great moderator. Seriously, the man would ask intelligent, relevant questions. I hope this happens. Please, powers-that-be … and Jon Stewart. Thank you.
The first ever pay-per-view Presidential debate. The proceeds, minus administrative fees and production costs, could go towards the Trump wall.
The election has already devolved into a three ring circus, the debates may as well be moderated by a comedian.
I would like to see that too. But Trump is such a loud blowhard who is rude, arrogant et al., not sure Stewart could shut him down.
