A Fox TV reporter begins an email asking then-Baltimore Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts for an interview by proclaiming, “I’m a POLICE fan!” according to the email obtained by The Washington Post.

Rick Boone, formerly a reporter with WTTG-TV, Washington D.C.’s Fox affiliate, also told Batts that he wanted to write a “positive story” about the department, which would not “discuss Freddie Gray or the officers named in the investigation,” according to the email dated May 3, weeks after Gray’s death in April.

Gray was a black, 25 year-old Baltimore man who was hurt while in police custody from a “high energy injury.” His death, which caused riots in the city, has been ruled a homicide because police did not practice proper safety precautions.

“My coverage last week has been fair and always will be. Like to do a story to get the city’s message of rebuilding out,” Boone continued in his email.

I thing the police commissioner probably assumed this if he has ever seen Fox News.

Where are all those sanctimonious pundits and villagers who tsk-tsked liberals for saying that Fox wasn’t a news channel and its talking heads weren’t reporters?

  3. I have a feeling that all the local networks are sending the same thing. Remember Fox TV is not Fox News. Fox TV broadcasts all those things things that Fox News people hate.

  5. Why should anyone be surprised by this?
