Hillary and Bill Clinton are expected to attend President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, according to a pair of reports out Tuesday.

Both Clintons plan to attend Trump's inauguration as 45th President of the United States, aides to both Clintons said, as cited in a CNN report.

Hillary Clinton discussed whether or not she should attend with advisors and friends over the last few weeks, according to anonymous sources cited in a New York Magazine report. She and her husband ultimately decided to attend "out of a sense of duty and respect for the American democratic process," according to the report.

Media outlets and journalists on Tuesday were quick to credit President-elect Donald Trump for House Republicans' abrupt about-face on a rules change that would have significantly weakened the the Office of Congressional Ethics, a reversal which Rep. Mike Simpson (R-ID) said he could have predicted Monday night.

"I could have told you last night when we left this would be undone," Simpson (R-ID) told reporters Tuesday afternoon on Capitol Hill when asked if he thought Trump's tweet had any effect on Republicans' decision to pull the rules change.
