Missouri state Rep. Steve Webb (D) resigned Monday amid charges that he stole $3,000 from campaign funds for his personal use, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

"Today is a tough day for me personally. But, this job is never about oneself," he said in a statement. "I strongly believe that the allegations against me will work themselves out. The University of Notre Dame on Tuesday re-filed a lawsuit against the Obama administration challenging the contraception mandate in the Affordable Care Act.

"Our abiding concern in both the original filing…and this re-filing has been Notre Dame’s freedom – and indeed the freedom of many religious organizations in this country – to live out a religious mission," Notre Dame president John Jenkins said in a statement, according to the Hill. "We have sought neither to prevent women from having access to services, nor to prevent the government from providing them."

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh last week called Pope Francis' economic views laid out in his Vatican mission statement "pure marxism."

"I have been numerous times to the Vatican. It wouldn't exist without tons of money," Limbaugh said in a show titled "It's Sad How Wrong Pope Francis Is (Unless It's a Deliberate Mistranslation By Leftists)." "But regardless, what this is, somebody has either written this for him or gotten to him. This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the Pope."

Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX) on Monday compared the interim Iranian nuclear deal to Britain's appeasement of Nazi Germany, according to the Hill.

"Prime Minister Chamberlain would have been proud after the West gave the snake oil salesman of the desert, Mr. Rouhani, exactly what he wanted: time and money to pursue his quest for nuclear intimidation," Poe said on the House floor, as recorded by the Hill.

Just Foreign Policy, a non-partisan group focused on foreign affairs, is circulating a petition on MoveOn.org urging Hillary Clinton to publicly support the interim nuclear deal with Iran announced in November.

"Republicans like Lindsey Graham are attacking the diplomatic deal on Iran's nuclear program negotiated by President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry," the petition reads. "It would make a big difference in getting political acceptance for the deal if former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were to publicly come out and endorse the deal."

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) bashed the Department of Homeland Security and called its cybersecurity deficiencies "inexcusable" in a Monday statement following the release of an inspector general's report on the department's information security. 

"This report shows major gaps in DHS's own cybersecurity, including some of the most basic protections that would be obvious to any 13-year-old with a laptop," Coburn said in the statement. "They don't keep track of weaknesses when they’re found, and they don't fix them in time to make a difference."
