Kobach Still Struggling With The Basics

You might have seen the document we posted earlier, which was filed by Kris Kobach’s legal team in the Kansas proof of citizenship case. The legal wizards in Kobach’s office forgot to delete a comment musing that a particular legal claim — that the plaintiffs lack standing — “PROBABLY ISN’T WORTH ARGUING.” (Well, it definitely isn’t now!)

This kind of incompetence is part of a pattern. Much of Tierney Sneed’s reporting from the recent trial over the citizenship law focused on the pretty basic legal mistakes that Kobach and his team appeared to keep making.
