Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) joined Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) Monday in calling for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, professor Christine Blasey Ford, to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about the episode of alleged sexual assault.
Professor Christine Blasey Ford deserves to be heard and Judge Kavanaugh deserves a chance to clear his name. Both have said they are willing to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee and I hope they will be given the opportunity to do that as quickly as possible.

Manchin does not sit on the committee, but represents an important vote as a red-state Democrat who sometimes crosses the aisle to vote with Republicans, as when he voted to confirm Supreme Court justice Neil Gorsuch.
