Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) gathered a group of moderate Republican senators, many of whom have started expressing their displeasure with the prolonged shutdown, to brainstorm ways to end it without humiliating President Donald Trump and conceding to the Democrats.

According to a Wednesday Politico report, Jared Kushner was also in attendance.

Graham seems to be driving at a deal to sweeten the pot enough for Democrats that they’d yield on the wall.

“There’s a way to get what the President wants and do the least amount of damage to the country as possible,” Graham told Politico. “The wall plus something else” for the Democrats.

Reports surfaced Wednesday that Senate Republicans are starting to weary of the shutdown and fearing blame from their constituents if it continues, spelling trouble for Trump.
