Ambush ‘Filmmaker’ James O’Keefe: From The ACORN Sting To Failed CNN Punking

|James O’Keefe, the young conservative activist who secretly recorded meetings with ACORN and was convicted in May of entering Sen. Mary Landrieu’s office under false pretenses, allegedly tried to “punk” CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau by luring her on to a boat and seducing her.||Newscom/UPI&&

|The origins of O’Keefe’s methods go back to his days as a campus activist, as Justin Elliott chronicled in this story.||AP&&

|O’Keefe first made a name for himself with his infamous ACORN sting, in which he and another conservative activist posed as a pimp and a prostitute — complete with outlandish costumes — and asked employees of ACORN for advice on how to conceal the woman’s source of income on their tax forms.||YouTube: PushBackNow&&

|O’Keefe — who Andrew Breitbart acknowledged paying a salary to — was arrested in January with three other men for allegedly trying to tamper with the phones in the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landreiu (D-LA). After the charges were reduced this spring, O’Keefe was sentenced to three years of probation, a fine of $1,500 and 100 hours of community service for the phone tampering incident.|| &&

|After the incident, a chastened O’Keefe told Sean Hannity he’d be “a little more thoughtful” in the future. ||Fox News&&
