President Donald Trump blamed Democrats on Thursday for the “ridiculous” $854 billion spending bill that passed the Senate on Tuesday with bipartisan support, despite knowing ahead of time it would likely not include border security funding.

The package includes money for nearly everything –departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Labor and Education — but his border wall, an issue that he himself has told the media, couldn’t be addressed before the Midterms. Trump told Fox News earlier this month that he would shut down the government in order to get his border wall, but he said he didn’t want to risk potentially damaging Republicans chances to maintain control of Congress.

Despite that, in a tweet on Thursday morning, Trump said he wanted to know “where is the money for border security and the WALL” in the spending bill, before blaming Democrats for “obstructing law enforcement and border security.”
