Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) released a new ad Thursday suggesting that Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes is not fit for the “serious times” in Washington.

The spot, which the campaign said will air statewide in a “significant six-figure buy,” features clips of Islamic State militants, a ticking debt clock, unaccompanied children at the border, and President Barack Obama saying “we don’t have a strategy yet” to deal with the radical Muslim group in Syria.

“Obama needs Alison Grimes. Kentucky needs Mitch McConnell,” a narrator says.

The ad, available below, comes exactly two months before election day. McConnell narrowly leads in two recent polls but the race is tight.
