Following a conservative report that found that the GOP is struggling to appeal to women voters, the Republican National Committee on Monday published a tweet expressing support for pay equality.

According to the poll commissioned by two conservative groups, women think the Republican Party is “intolerant” and that Republicans “fail to speak to women in the different circumstances in which they live.”

RNC chair Reince Priebus last week said the GOP can close the gap between the Democratic and Republican parties among women with outreach and by pushing back against Democratic attacks.

That appears to be what the RNC was doing on Wednesday. However, Republicans have consistently blocked legislation to promote equal pay for women.

Conservatives have also criticized the White House gender pay gap. The Obama administration has defended this gap gap, noting that they pay women the same as men for equal work, but have fewer women in higher positions.
