‘Egypt’s Jon Stewart’ Speaks Out Against Morsi, Muslim Brotherhood

The satirist who’s been dubbed “Egypt’s Jon Stewart” used his Twitter feed on Wednesday to issue a series of rebukes against the Muslim Brotherhood, the political party that has been the subject of massive protests in Cairo’s Tahrir Square.

In a series of Tweets, Bassem Youssef called the Muslim Brotherhood a “disgrace” and “the new form of Nazis,” while arguing that Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi — who the comedian called a “lunatic” — should be put on trial.

Youseff welcomed the actual Jon Stewart on his program last month.
