Report: Trump Planning $2M-A-Week TV Ad Buying Spree

After months of free buzz around his 2016 campaign, Donald Trump is planning a substantial television advertising blitz that could cost upwards of $2 million a week ahead of the Iowa caucuses, according to a Fox News report.

Trump’s “initial wave” of ads would focus on his vision and policies, Fox reported, but an unnamed adviser said that strategy could change if Trump’s opponents continue to attack him.

“If you attack Trump, he will attack you 10 times as hard,” the adviser told Fox’s Howard Kurtz. “We will not allow any attack to go unanswered.”

Trump’s campaign didn’t end up spending any of the $25 million budgeted for TV ads for the third quarter of 2015, according to the report.

Trump has so far relied on his own social channels and frequent media appearances to get his message out. A prolific Twitter user, the billionaire frequently recirculates occasionally off-color tweets from his fans, and has released a slew of unpolished videos attacking Democrat Hillary Clinton and his fellow Republicans on his verified Instagram account.
