House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) on Sunday responded to a comment conservative pundit Laura Ingraham made that Cantor should have been traded to the Taliban for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.

“I will say that the suggestion that I should have been traded to the Taliban for Sergeant Bergdahl really is not a serious contribution to any public policy debate, and frankly, I don’t think that it reflects on the people that self-identify as Tea Partyers. I think they reject that kind of notion,” Cantor said on ABC’s “This Week.” “And it’s just not serious. And frankly it cheapens the debate.”

However, Cantor said he didn’t blame anyone when ABC host Jonathan Karl asked of Ingraham contributed to his primary loss.

Ingraham responded to Cantor’s criticisms later on Sunday.

“He has no sense of humor, that’s why he lost,” Ingraham said on ABC’s “This Week” about Cantor’s reaction to her Taliban comment.
