Vice President Joe Biden said Saturday that the modern day Republican Party has changed markedly from previous eras.
Biden was speaking at a campaign event in Boston for Massachusetts Senate hopeful Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA).
“Let me tell you something, this is not your father’s Republican Party anymore, man,” Biden said, per a pool report. “This is a different breed of cat.”
He added, “These are guys who think compromise is a dirty word.”
Biden said that Markey’s opponent, Republican businessman Gabriel Gomez, is no different from the rest of the GOP.
“As I understand it, Ed’s opponent shares the view of the rest of these guys,” Biden said.
