We’re hiring a new Associate Editor position to head up TPM’s LiveWire, the beating heart of TPM. TPM is hiring an Associate Editor to work in our New York City office. This is a full-time editing position directing TPM’s breaking news coverage. It includes leading the breaking news team that runs TPM’s Livewire, overseeing the TPM home page, and deep immersion in TPM’s social media strategy. You have the ability to convert breaking news into smart, accurate, and compelling content and you inspire exceptional performance from your team. The position includes a mix of story-editing, story-assigning, and rapid-fire decision making. You will play a substantial role in setting the direction for TPM’s overall news coverage.

Candidates must have at least three years of professional editing and/or reporting experience and must be ready to work in a highly collaborative environment and at the fast-paced metabolism of a digital news organization. An exceptional grasp of contemporary U.S. politics and the digital news space, along with a real familiarity with TPM and solid news judgment, are each a must.
