Here’s Condit’s new lawyer Abbe Lowell explaining the repeated delays in the police’s requested second interview with the congressman. “As to the time, the place, the circumstances, it’s going to be some way that we can avoid all this because that’s not helping to find Chandra,” said Lowell, referring to the surrounding media firestorm. The idea seems to be that interviewing Condit too quickly might make it more difficult to solve the mystery of Levy’s disappearance.
