Vice President Joe Biden has seen The Onion parodies of him, like the one titled “Shirtless Biden Washes Trans Am In White House Driveway,” and says: “I think it’s hilarious.”
Biden told Anna Robertson of Yahoo! News: “I saw the one of me washing a Trans-Am automobile in the driveway shirtless with tattoos all over myself and out there. By the way, I have a Corvette– a ’67 Corvette– not a Trans-Am.”
Since Biden took office, The Onion has done a series of “articles” about him that paint him as a womanizing gambler, and generally an embarrassment to the White House. Sample headlines: “Biden Invites Nation’s Women To Tax Code Discussion At Private Mountain Chalet,” “Biden Receives Lifetime Ban From Dave & Buster’s,” “White House Infested With Bedbugs After Biden Brings In Recliner Off The Curb,” and “Joe Biden Shows Up To Inauguration With Ponytail.”
Biden told Robertson that he is “flattered that they acknowlege the skits on me are totally inconsitent with my personality.”
“I guess you’re not supposed to encourage it by laughing at yourself,” he added.
“Most people refer to me who know me, and even in the press, of being a little bit square,” Biden said. “And now, I’m the philanderer. I think it’s hilarious, the stuff they do on me.”
