Tens of thousands of supporters loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad rallied in Damascus on Wednesday, Reuters reports. The U.S. and EU have imposed sanctions on Syria, and the six-month popular uprising has killed nearly 3,000, according to the United Nations.
