Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) said on MSNBC this morning that he doubts Democrats will take up immigration reform this year.
“Is it realistic that immigration reform can actually be taken up and passed in an election year this year?” Chuck Todd asked.
“I’ll tell you straight up, Chuck, I doubt it,” Tester said. “We’ve got a lot of stuff on the table to do. This Wall Street reform bill is gonna take some time. If we end up taking up energy policy or potential climate change policy, you know better than anyone, that’s gonna take a huge amount of time.”
Tester continued: “The list goes on and on and on. And we’ve got a lot of work to do here. I just don’t know how you’re gonna find the time to take it up.”
