Recommended read on the future of the Republican party
I found many of the comments on Marc Ambinder's October 3 post: Rebuilding The Republican Party: Not Tabula Rasa to be an exceptional read, offering up lots of food for thought. Some get into Cameron's popularity in England as a contrast, which makes it even more interesting.

Too much work to summarize? Why should I care about the Republican Party's future?
With luck they will fragment into true Tories, Libertarians, and Social Conservatives.

Too much work to summarize?
Yes, it's long thread with lots of interesting contrasting thought, like, you know, the old TPM Cafe used to have.
Why should I care about the Republican Party's future?
You might want to know your enemy? You might want to know which factions are going to be going Democratic, and how that might influence it?You might want to know what Obama may have to do as president to govern by majority? You might want to know the way people outside a political echo chamber are thinking?
With luck they will fragment into true Tories, Libertarians, and Social Conservatives
That's one of many possibilites mentioned on that thread, but with more much definition.

I try to show why I have a link. I make an argument, and the link backs it up. Your para responding to my "Why should I care?" is such a summary. Thanks for the tip.
Let's hope this election is a big loss, and motivates some changes.
