NSA Intercepting Private American Calls: How Long Has Congress Known?

ABC news reports NSA officers well knew they were intercepting American citizens private phone calls.

Despite no obvious accusation of wrong doing, note Hayden's worthless denial:
A spokesman for General Hayden, Mark Mansfield, said: "At NSA, the law was followed assiduously. The notion that General Hayden sanctioned or tolerated illegalities of any sort is ridiculous on its face."

The director of the NSA, Lt. General Keith B. Alexander, declined to directly answer any of the allegations made by the whistleblowers.

In a written statement, Gen. Alexander said: "We have been entrusted to protect and defend the nation with integrity, accountability, and respect for the law. As Americans, we take this obligation seriously. Our employees work tirelessly for the good of the nation, and serve this country proudly."

Reconsider 9-11 in light of this information about the NSA intercepts:
Where are the NSA intercepts of conversations before 9-11 discussing who placed the explosives in WTC 1, 2, and 3?

Which NSA officers have been gagged from discussing which computers these intercepts were stored?
Article I Section 8 says Congress makes rules governing the regulation of the military. Pelosi needs to disclose whether she plans to seriously enforce the Constitution; or whether she plans to continue to remain loyalty to a secrecy agreement about FISA violations during wartime.
How many NSA officers have shared their concerns with Congress, but Members of Congress has not timely acted?
The outrage of this President's illegaly activity, Congress not only refused to impeach, but he's convinced American citizens they are somehow to blame for his economic disaster. 9-11 and this economic disaster happened on his watch, but the Congress would require American citizens to shoulder the consequences of their malfeasance.

Enough. This government should be lawfully thrown to the waste heap of history.

Where there is no accountability, that government should be put on the table and be lawfully replaced. This US government is the domestic threat to the US Constitution. It cannot be trusted to preserve either our national or economic security.

It has exhausted the reasonable patience of American citizens, and falls well short of the promise of the founders.

We can do better.

I think Congress has been blackmailed, possibly with getting key Dems - such as the Intelligence committee members- to agree to torture and other war crimes, thereby making them confederates in crimes that they could not later disown.
At least that is the charitable interpretation, although it damns them utterly for their cowardice.
One thing is for certain: History will concur in the current judgement of the 110th congress and the current President as deserving their present ratings at the bottom of the historical barrel.
