Probably the best private anti-McCain ad I've seen yet

I have no idea who made this video, but I sure wish it was on TV.

That is a great ad...Yet another one that needs to be sent to everyone's e-mail contact list!

I agree. This would be great to put out nationally. Who are the outside groups that are supporting with advertising? The only one I know of is moveon.org.
I can send them a link however I have no idea if anyone will actually read the email etc. I'll give it shot. If we knew who was doing some advertising we could send it to them...

Wait a minute... who made this ad?... I am sure that they can get word out themselves and be more effective.

Truthandhope.org is putting out some privately made ads.
http://truthandhope.org/. They may like this one too.

Thanks for that. I already passed it along via email and a post on a thread elsewhere.

The question is why aren't Obama's people making good ads?

Maybe those of us who think they could be running more effective ads should speak up and tell them so. It seems to me there are many excellent people who could collaborate with the campaign to create excellent ads.

Input is fine ... but believing you are smarter than Obama's team is silly. Having untrained/tested bloggers directly influence messaging strategy would be exactly like selecting Palin as VP.

This a GREAT viral ad with some of the best production I've seen. Going viral is one thing ... television is quite another.

This ad is on message. It's the only message the Obama Camp needs to send.
Forget the rest of the ads, especially the one saying McCain doesn't know how to use a computer.

THIS IS THE AD TO RUN, OBAMA PEOPLE.

EMAIL IT TO EVERYONE. Seriously, us blogs band together and we can reach 100's of thousands of people in one sweep. We HAVE to get to work guys, let's do the damn thing.

I love the last bit, "I did everything I could to get him elected ... and re-elected". Especially the way his tone changes for "and re-elected," as if he's thinking oh-dear-god-how-low-have-I-sunk.

Another clip that I'd love to see in ads is from here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChIX-XHlZFw&feature=related
from about 3:12 to 3:18. McCain says "I lied" followed by one of his creepy laughs.

Why isn't Obama running this ad? Why does Obama keep letting McCain up off the mat each time McCain says one moronic thing after the next?

I just wrote to the Obama campaign and suggested they hire the person who made the ad, tag it and run it. If you think this is a great ad, let them know.

If they hear from enough people, they just might do it.

On second viewing, I'd say the Obama campaign would need to change a single phrase in the ad before it would be ready to roll. From "and he's the one who broke it" to "and he helped break it". Other than that, it's thoroughly pro.

I've just posted a link to the vid on every website I could think of and sent it to everyone I know. I'm determined to help make this the viral video of the campaign.

SORRY ABOUT THIS BUT since TPM can't get anything to an initial post I'm gonna put this here because IN YOU WILDEST DREAM YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT JOHN MCCAIN SAID IN the Sept./Oct. 2008 issue of Contingencies, the magazine of the American Academy of Actuaries. You might want to be seated before reading this.
Here’s what McCain has to say about the wonders of market-based health reform:
Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.
So McCain, who now poses as the scourge of Wall Street, was praising financial deregulation like 10 seconds ago — and promising that if we marketize health care, it will perform as well as the financial industry! THANK YOU PAUL KRUGMAN!

Some of the most interesting things about this video are his smiles...they are genuine. They look nothing like that rictus we see these days when he feels compelled to expose his orthodontia.

Here's the ad Obama will run in Novemeber, if things look tight.

In One Week in September, John McCain
said the fundamentals of the economy are strong;
opposed the AIG bailout;
supported the AIG bailout;
was told by his favorite CEO that he's not qualified to run a company;
said he'd fire the head of the SEC, except presidents don't have that power.
and claimed he never supported privatizing social security.

That's a bad week for a candidate. For a president, it would be a disaster for the country.

I sent this ad to the Obama team this morning. I hope they got it.

This is a great ad. Sherrod Brown clobbered Mike Dewine here in Ohio with a similar simple ad linking Dewine to Bush-- this ad is even better. Contact the Obama campaign and tell them to put this ad on broadcast. It's a great ad because it uses McCain's own words and creepy laughing against him-- there's nothing here that McCain can claim isn't true.
