As a Democrat I'm Ecstatic that Sarah Palin kicked ass tonight.
Democrats everywhere should be exhaling a huge sigh of relief tonight. Sarah Palin will seem to be the Real Deal. Whew! Come on we all knew that she wasn't going to fuck up the carefully planned, and overly coached speech. She was GREAT. She knocked it out of the park. AWESOME!!!
Now the gloves come off.
Everyone that was fretting about Joe Biden looking like a bully. Fret NO MORE. Everyone that was worried about how you take on a woman. Worry NO MORE. Sarah (I'll ignore the hurricane shit storm brewing in Alaska) has proven that she's one of the guys. NOW the guys can treat her like one of the guys.
See the whole bully remark worked when everyone looked at her as this weak small town mayor and governor. But now she's proven that she can hit as hard and more time than the guys. This means they can hit back. It's like when your sister kicks you in the balls. When you get up ALL BETS ARE OFF!!! Now, I'm not advocating going dirty. That's simply not Barack's or this campaigns style. BUT, now they can go full barrels on her flippety-floppety record. They can hit McCain straight on for being OLD. He's a 72 year old two time cancer survivor that decided the person to take over for him in the event of his likely death with just a 15 minute job interview and a quicky background check. If you want to buy a McDonalds you have to go through more than that.
This is the best thing that came out of this convention. I wouldn't even refer to her as Sarah Palin, or Her. It would always be Governor Palin. She can be hit as if her name was “Sam Palin.” Let the games begin!

I laugh at all of you who are so down on Gov Palin. I laugh in your face!!!
I laugh, simply because you know that her pick knocked you out of the box. It nullified anything you could say about treatment of women. As far as the experience issue goes, true, she has no foreign policy experience, but neither does Barack Obama, and you want to give him the first seat! At least she has an opportunity to learn before getting thrown into the vortex. Barack will be stuttering from day one. She leads the AK national Guard. She runs a state police force, and is ultimately responsible for all that they do or fail to do. What is Barack responsible for as a "community organizer/state sen/US Sen"? His desk.
Liberals never have anything factual to run on. Personal, vicious, attacks is what they do best, and they are getting a big help from the media on that.
This is a principled woman who will never have to "make things up on the fly". Her life is an opened book, and her principles and values will ensure she says exactly what she means. Barack can't do that because what he means is too far off from what the average American belives. His life is, and if he has his way, will stay a closed book, until he's ready to spring all of that liberal garbage on this great nation of ours.
No way can we let that happen.

Of course, you conveniently ignore the fact that John McCain was wrong about needing more troops in Afghanistan, wrong about invading Iraq, wrong that we would be "hailed as liberators", wrong that it would be "easy" and a "quick victory". He's wrong about not wanting a timeline for exiting Iraq. He was wrong for saying we shouldn't be focusing on Pakistan. Sen. Barack "no experience" Obama was right on all of the above.
That's what, like 6-0 for the Obama team?
That's judgment, which Sen. Obama has repeatedly demonstrated to be several levels above Sen. McCain.

You're right. The bar of expectations was set very low for her because no one knew what to expect. She's benefiting this morning from exceeding those low expectations.
I only saw her attack dog character. I saw nothing remotely presidential or vice-presidential about her. For all of her big stage cockiness and Bush-like divisive language, I thought she also came off much more like some petty small town politician than I would have expected.
Now, the bar is greatly raised. Future stumbles, gaffes, and her debate performance will be viewed by through this new calibration. She will now have to jump much higher.

I'm no admirer of Chris Matthews, but he made exactly the same point as you. At least in the VP debate Biden will now be much more able to strongly disagree with Palin without risking the appearance of bullying.
One caveat. As Matthews also said Palin manages to attack with a smile on her face. To some extent that still allows her to punch from within a 'priviledged sanctuary', Biden still can't respond as forcefully as he would do a male. Sexism works both ways.

But you want to be careful: she's a woman, therefore ANY criticism of her policies, her lack of qualifications, and the like relevancies, will "earn" one the name-caller's abusive "mysoginist!" and "sexist!"
Do the sexist using sex to get ahead games ever cease? Why MUST one respect the dishonest backstabber?
