3 questions...

Why is it that when news appeared that Mitt Romney once put his dog on the roof of his car, it was a top political story for a cycle or two, but nobody is allowed to mention aerial wolf hunting?

Why is it that it is okay to flog a speech given by Jeremiah Wright as an indicator that Barack Obama might not unfailingly love his country, but nobody is allowed to mention Todd Palin's decade-long membership of a group that advocates secesion of Alaska from the United States?

Why is okay for George Stephanopolous to ask Barack Obama if Jeremiah Wright "loves this country as much as you do", but Charlie Gibson can't ask Sarah Palin if she thinks cavemen hunted dinosaurs 6,000 years ago?

These are serious, dispassionate questions, and I don't understand why they are not being asked.

The American media loves building someone up, then tearing them down.  McLiar is clearly hoping there is enough time for only the build-up before November, the tear down can come later.

By then it will be too late.

P.S.  I'm sorry to add yet another Palin post to the pile, please forgive me and reccommend anyway...

P.P.S.  Please feel free to add other questions to the list that were legitimate when pointed towards the left, but "disrepectful" when they go the other way.  I bet we could get quite a list pretty easily.

Great questions, and I wish I knew. I was sure the msm would loop her church chat and that other vid from the AK group and play them over and over...

I wish I understood.

The questions are disrespectful against the right because the right defends their own. Similar questions -- iron my shirt -- for example were met by deafening silence on the part of Obama and the DNC.

Obama did a lot of blatant stuff -- check out Jesse Jackson, Jr. implying that Hillary did not care about Katrina because it largely impacted black people -- no rebuke from Obama, no apology and Jesse Jackson, Jr. was a speaker at the Democratic Convention. Hillary did not call Obama on this because she wanted the Democrats to win whoever won the nomination.

McCain has no such inhibition and is not putting up with the slime from Obama.

Wow, the delays on this site are really bad - this comment was obviously submitted during the primary, and it shows up now?

I don't understand why Todd Palin is always by Sara's side. Who's taking care of all those kids? And he's signing autographs - WTF?

She the VP nominee of a POW you know.

...and you can never question the record of a war hero (if he's a Republican)!

Or the mother of a special needs baby... with so much executive experience, she could never be a CEO of HP. Too experienced....

Because they are wolves. You learn from infancy that the big bad wolf is bad. Right.

If they were cute fuzzy little puppies then you'd have a point.

Shoot the wolves, save a pig.

It really all comes down to incompetence and/or cowardice.

Incompetence is rampant in the MSM. The Daily Howler and its archives is an "incomparable" source for seeing just how horrible it can be... and is.

Likewise with cowardice. Nobody likes to be criticized. And the MSM has even greater anxiety with this. They get their share of criticism (deservedly so!) from every political quarter... so it is hardly surprising when we're left feeling less than fulfilled after a Charlie Gibson interview.

It may still work out, though. It does happen sometimes. It may be that some reporter trying to make a mark will take the time to actually do a little research and then ask the tough questions--if given the opportunity. Big "if" there, I know. But anyway...

Maybe. Someday.

I'm with Loki 100% on this. I would also add the obvious but unspeakable truths: items 2 and 3 are issues with Obama because he's black. And many white folk, for reasons too complicated to address here, are concerned about an angry black man assuming the highest office in the land. Let's just say it raises issues. I'd also add that the Republicans seem to be better at working the refs - due to their unified and relentless chorus on this issue.

I would disagree with those who attribute it to some sort of MSM plot to make this a close election.

we need another "How many houses do you own?"

I laugh everytime I think about how innocent that question was.

loki, you know I gotta say this.

If you believe that I've got a bridge in Alaska to sell you!

;)
