Thank you, Paul Kiel, and good luck!

Seconded. There's a Pulitzer waiting for Paul somewhere in the future.

Great work, Paul, we'll miss you and good luck!

You will be sorely missed!

Thanks, Paul. I always read your posts on my daily visits to TPM and have long since come to admire and respect your investigative talents.

Exposing hypocrisy and dishonesty in politicians is a true public service. Thanks for all the hard work, Paul, and keep it up in your new gig!

Some of the best posts here at TPM.

I, too, will add my well wishes and warm thanks.

Live Frankly

Thanks Paul. Best of luck with the new gig.

Paul,

We expect good things from you now that you have the backing of billionaires behind you and the Pro Publica team.

Good luck and we'll read your stuff over there.

Paul - such great reporting. Best of luck to you.

Happy trails and keep fighting the good fight, Paul. You've done wonderful and important things here at TPM.

Kick ass Paul

You freakin beauty..break my heart

Will miss your words here at TPM, but look forward to reading them at your new web address Paul. I have linked to your pieces more than anyone else's on the internets dude. :)

Best wishes, Paul. You've done great work here and they're lucky to snag you. I'd bet you have a ton of mixed feelings about leaving but the excitement of this new challenge appears to be a great fit for you. I look forward to seeing your work.

Thanks, Paul!

Your work has inspired me to rake a little muck myself, and I thank you for it!

Good luck Paul! Give 'em hell, and keep up the great work! You guys are reforming media one blog at a time!

user-pic

Your and Josh's work on the attorney firings helped change so much in providing real evidence of the widespread malfeasance of the Bush administration..... and will be seen in retrospect as of watershed importance. Thanks, and good luck.

user-pic

Thanks so much for all your work, Paul. We all owe you (and Josh and the other muckrackers) more than we can ever repay. Good luck, and keep up the good work!

I wrote Josh on the birth of his new baby that as long as people like he and wife are having kids there's hope for this world. Well Paul as long as TPM is turning out writers like you and sending you off to bigger and better things there's hope for American journalism. Good luck and God speed.

Congratulations on the new job. I look forward to following your work at ProPublica.

Congratulations on your new gig!

To quote a commenter above: "there's a Pulitzer waiting for Paul somewhere in the future."

I'm guessing that the prize awarder will say something like "It's a real shame that this is all we can offer for such an outstanding work... No, wait! Here, take my car keys too."

Thank you.

I see Paul's change of direction as contributing to the overhealth health of American journalism: It's a transfusion of his energy, style, and integrity into yet another ground-breaking journalistic enterprise. (And I have no doubt that TPM with find equally outstanding investigators and writers to step up to the plate.) Good luck and best wishes!

Darn! That should be "overall health". Paul would never have let something like that slip by in his text!

Thank you for working so hard to point out to the Bush Administration that Ethics and Integrity DO matter to the American People...The work on the US Attorney/DOJ scandal was first class and would never have gotten the play it did without you! Not letting go of that story, forced the MSM to finally take a hard look at what was really going on. Thank you.

Good Luck my friend and may God Bless you.

Thank you Paul, and good luck with your new job. I'm still in shock to see that you are leaving. Josh pulled a Bushie with this - announcing sad news late on Friday. It is sad news too, but in the long run it will, I'm sure, be good news for ProPublica. (One more place to be sure to monitor.)

user-pic

Paul, Pro Publica's lucky to have you. I look forward to hearing more from you in your new position.

not a day has gone by without it being absolutely necessary to check in on you Paul - abso-f'in-lutely fabulous, enlightening, engaging, and frankly patriotic work.

the very best to you

sincere thanks

Best of luck at Pro Publica and beyond! Thank you for all of your hard work.

Thank you for your hard work, Paul. We're a better country for citizens like you. Keep it up!

It's always a good sign when a small start-up outfit can graduate one of their people to other projects. It means the organization hired quality people, and provided them with the challenges they needed to outgrow the startup. It reflects well on the graduate and on the alma mater.

Good luck, Paul. It sounds like a great opportunity for you, but you'll be sorely missed around here.

I doubt that there'll be too many others at Pro Publica who've had a hand in unseating a U.S. Attorney General....

Miss you!

KTHXBY!

Aloha...

Paul,

I have really appreciated your patriotic journalism on TPM. I hope to be hearing your name more and more in the future.

Paul,
All the best to you in your new endeavor. Your excellent work here at TPM has been noted and appreciated by many of us. Fight the good fight!

May I extend my very best wishes from north of the 49th parallel to Paul for all he and Josh have accomplished.

It may not be immediately apparent but many people in the Rest of the World have been stunned and appalled with what has happened in the US over the past 7 plus years. That period would extend from the criminal theft of the 2000 election, through the horrid 911 attacks, through the subsequent era of aggression and murder, and the liquidation of civil rights in the US.

I think its fair to say that although the past seven years have tested our relationship, it can be renewed given the will. Part of the renewal, an important part, is the righteous ferreting out of political criminality. We all look forward to Nuremburg II.

Sincerely, best regards from this Canadian. We are pulling for you to rectify the situation. The sooner the better my friends and neighbours. Its been an ugly decade and should not soon be repeated.

You can finally shake that laggard Marshall off and get some REAL work done. (KIDDING! I kid.)

The nation owes you, Paul, a real debt of gratitude for your work here. That's a pretty big deal career-wise right there.

Best in your new gig. I'm sure you'll soar. Remember to get paid...

Fantastic work Paul! Give 'em hell at your new gig. We'll miss your intelligence and razor sharp wit.

This is like a mini Salon phenomenon-- no sooner do you get a great muckraker than they're off.

Josh brought me into TPM, but Paul, it was you and Justin who got me hooked. Great work, and good luck to you.

I've been a TPM reader much longer than I've been a poster. Good luck Paul. I came for Josh, I stayed for your work.

It's a fine thing to see someone with your talent and integrity branching out to something new and rewarding. Best wishes to you in your new endeavor.

Best wishes to you in your new endeavor, Paul.

You will be missed.

user-pic

Good luck, Paul. Thank you for your efforts.

Great work Paul. Best of luck.

Paul, I wish you the very best in your new position. I read the Muck every day, and you were one of the big reasons. Outstanding work!

user-pic

Paul, your new employer is lucky to have you, just as TPM has been lucky to have you. I really enjoyed your writing style and believe you are an excellent journalist. Best wishes.

user-pic

Thank you, Paul.

user-pic

Thanks for all of your hard work, Paul. I check TPM several times a day, and you're a big part of the reason why. Josh made a good call hiring you.

Thanks Paul. Its people like you who help people like me hang on by a thread while waiting for sanity's return.

Evie

Thank you, Paul Kiel. You and your work on this site and ALL the work on this site have restored my faith in a free press.

user-pic

Paul, I have used your work extensively, as I regularly blog about national security issues. You are one of my primary resources on the "short list of trust-worthies". You can stand shoulder to shoulder with Christy Hardin Smith, emptywheel, and Glenn Greenwald. You can be sure I will follow you to your new gig. Thanks for your contribution to our nation, Paul, as someone else said in this thread.
