Problems with the TPM System (comments, login, etc.)

I've seen tons of complaining in the comments about how buggy the system is. Seems like no one is listening. Perhaps we need a thread specifically about the system.

Here's a specific situation I have found myself in,  tested and understand that should be fixed by the TPM tech folk: I had lost my password to login. I clicked 'fogot your password' and a link was sent to me by email. I logged in with the system-generated password and tried to change my password to something I could remember. well, what I realize now -- after a week and a half of getting angry -- is that it NEVER remembers my new password. it retains the system-generated one. this, after 'requesting' my password a dozen times thinking (at first) I had misremembered or something. UHG!

So, what problems have you had? Lets see if our various experiences will help illuminate the depth, breadth and frustration of these system glitches. Maybe if we do a little vocalizing, someone from TPM will at least recognize the problems if not solve them. (and maybe we can help them solve the problems by providing specifics on how the problems happen and under what circumstances.)

so -- problems logging in? problems posting comments? complaints about the editing options / inability to proof your work before you post it? what else?

We're listening. The last update we did is here. Hopefully we'll be able to report back with more soon.

I've involuntarily learned my system generated password. I can unhappily cope with entering it multiple times.

The feature I currently miss most was the highlighting of comments which were new on a thread since it was last visited. This enabled continuing conversations since you didn't have to re-read the whole blog to follow replies to replies.

Here is a temporary solution:

I forgot my password and received an assigned one that I immediately changed to one I could remember. When I try to use this password it is always rejected as "invalid" the first time I type it in but if I retype it, it works.

I'm still using my self-selected password, but when it logs me out before I can post a comment: I CTRL-C my typing, refresh the page, then I punch my password up-top, which it rejects and throws me to the log-in page, then I type my password into the slots, submit to be rejected and then it works on the third try.

After all that, I scroll back through the "Reader's Blogs" site until I find the post where I started, click on it and then I CTRL-P my comment into the textbox and it works.

I just really want a preview function on posted comments, and the ability to enter HTML in blog posts (instead of it just parsing it in comments). :(
