78,000 donors?!!??
Can that possibly be correct?
I've been dropping in on the Obama site pretty much every 3 or 4 hours since yesterday evening when the donor counter read something along the line of 1,36x,xxx donors.
All day today the link has been broken so there has been no number.
Now I just checked and the darn thing says 1,444,xxx donors.
I really don't care whether that's donations or donors, but I sure do care that I'm correct.
Anybody know?

That is unique donors. If you give 5 times like I have, it registers as 1. So those are new donors. I suppose the counter could be off as well as I do not know if it is set up to immediately recognize that I have already given.
Also, Clinton had 100,000 donors in 24 hours post PA win, so this number is not that unusual.

I'm thinking that they pulled in about 5-7 million after the Penn. primary but since it was less than the Clinton campaign there is no need to release the figure. Instead I think they will be sitting on this till May 6th and then say "we pulled in X for April" which will be undoubtedly more than Hillary. That coupled with the probable wins in Indiana and NC it'll be a bit of a perfect storm for the remaining Obama leaning supers to support him.

The donor counter might of been wrong when you saw it last night, the counter had him over 1.4 million since PA. The current number of over 1.444 million is of unique donors.

I'm pretty sure I've been seeing that counter number grow slowly over the last day or so. You might be looking at a browser caching error. Looks like the barackobama.com site is using a 3 sec cache max-age, but that's the sort of thing that certain browsers can mess up. (If you hold crtl-shift and press refresh/reload, that should force the most current image to load.) In any case, I'm seeing 1,444,602 donors right now.

Hi,
I have been watching the numbers for 10 days. Yesterday, at around 2:30p the # was 1,413,555 (or so)(subtracted from 1,444,147). So I get 30,592.
However, if one counts from 4/22 then the number is 72,087 first time donors since 10a on 4/22.
(correct me if I'm off, of course.)
